Ruben Garcia Joins Visual Data

Visual Data, a partner to major studios and distribution companies for over 15 years by providing integrated end-to-end post-production solutions for the seamless repurposing and distribution of content for all media outlets, has announced that industry veteran Ruben Garcia has been named Vice President of Technical Services.

In his new role, Garcia will draw upon more than twenty years of post production experience to guide Visual Data customers through the complex technological and work flow decisions facing them in the modern creative environment.

Garcia brings an uncommon blend of experience to Visual Data, from film-based services to the latest in digital technologies. His career trajectory began at Magic Film & Video, an industry-leading editorial and negative cutting company that he joined while still in college in 1987 as a film Assembly Technician.

Over the course of 15 years, he progressed through a number of technical and managerial roles as the company grew. He was ultimately named Vice President, supporting an expansion of technology based services and overseeing the implementation of cutting-edge editorial developments. Under his leadership, the company expanded from four employees to seventy-five.

In 2003, Garcia helped to establish Hollywood Intermediate, Matchframe’s Digital Intermediate division, where served as the Vice President of Feature and DI Solutions for three years. Subsequently he joined Post Logic, a company at the forefront of the Digital Intermediate revolution and widely respected as an early innovator in the digital workflow. Garcia was also a Co-Founder of Identity Studios, a cutting-edge visual effects company.

Garcia notes that “I love to keep my finger on the pulse of technology and really enjoy the collaborative process of working with engineers.
