Stereo D LLC, a
Los Angeles based 2D to 3D conversion company, has purchased
a Stereo3D-equipped Quantel iQ DI system and put it into immediate
service on the 2D to 3D conversion Stereo D LLC is currently
performing on 'The Last Airbender'.
"While we use specialist 2D to 3D conversion technology
for the transformation of the imagery, iQ gives us the ability
to review the results in realtime at full resolution and also
to interactively manipulate the 3D vergence to get the stereo
image working perfectly," said Aaron Parry, Stereo D
LLC Chief Executive Officer.
"We looked at all the available stereo-equipped systems
on the market, but the Quantel 3D toolset and interactivity
put the iQ well ahead of anything else around, and of course,
being Quantel, its image quality is unmatched," Parry
added. "Critically, it also includes a full editing,
color correction, effects, compositing and titling toolset
- in fact, every finishing tool you need in a single system.
This means that we never have to compromise on 'good enough'
because all the tools are right there to get a perfect result
every time, without losing valuable hours or sometimes days
moving the job between systems."
Stereo D, LLC. was created by entrepreneurs in 2009 who are
helping lead a new movement into the world of 3D feature films
and content. Stereo D uses proprietary software to create
high quality 3D images and is located in Hollywood, California.
