Colorist Sam Sheppard joins Quantel

Quantel announced that Colorist Sam Sheppard has joined Quantel. Sam will be responsible for demonstrating the Quantel Pablo color correction and finishing system to customers and at exhibitions around the world.

Sheppard has broad experience in the film and DI business. His first job in the industry was at Weta Digital where he contributed to Peter Jackson’s ‘King Kong’.

Sam has worked in photochemical grading and telecine at Park Road Post Production – a major Quantel customer - and also in the lighting camera department on several movies including ‘The Lovely Bones’ and ‘Avatar’. To take up his new position with Quantel, Sheppard has moved to the UK from New Zealand.

“I love grading and the movie industry as a whole,” Sam says. “All the DIs at Park Road are edited and graded on the Quantel Pablo, which is testament to the product. Working for Quantel is a fabulous opportunity and I’m thoroughly looking forward to working with all our customers to further develop Pablo.”
