Sony Pictures Technologies Selects FilmLight for 4K DI Facility
 

The deal includes Baselight EIGHT, FilmLight's highest performance colour grading system that enables clients to play and grade multiple 4K streams in real-time; Baselight FOUR and Baselight Assist stations.

FilmLight's industry standard colour management technology, Truelight, is also incorporated, covering on-set, production and post-production.


AJA Announces Ki Pro Portable Digital Disk Recorder
 

Ki Pro Bridges Gap Between Camera Acquisition and Post, Recording Directly to the Apple ProRes 422 Codec.

Ki Pro provides a new way of connecting production and post with its extensive analog and digital connectivity; virtually any video and audio source can be fed into Ki Pro to record pristine 10-bit ProRes 422 media that is then immediately available to edit within Apple's Final Cut Studio.


Quantel and Spatial View announce Stereo3D technology strategic partnership
 

The first partnership project will be a plug-in that enables Stereo3D material produced on Quantel systems to be displayed on a wide variety of Spatial View devices, including 3D displays, computer screens, and the iPhone 3G, without the need for 3D glasses.

The plug-in is scheduled for release this Spring.

ARRI announced that it has entered into a Letter of Intent to develop and sell an innovative new Texture Control software tool for digital intermediate (DI) and mastering facilities
