| Pinewood's media preservation, restoration and archive facility open for business |
|
Pinewood Studios has launched its Media Preservation, Restoration and Archive facility with a reception attended by key industry figures from companies including Optimum Releasing, Canal+, Disney, Getty Images, and Warner Bros and the BBC.
Located in Pinewood's Picture Post Production suite, the new facilities will provide restoration services for still and moving images.

In January 2010, Motionlink installed the DVS CLIPSTER supplied by Sydney-based post production and digital media specialist Digistor.
CLIPSTER performed the steps required for the production of Digital Cinema Packages for distribution to cinemas for digital projection.

 JVC Professional Products announced the new, 10 MegaPixel DLA-SH7NLG, a 4K D-ILA projector incorporating three 1.27-inch 4K2K D-ILA display devices for high-quality imaging and dual ultra-high-pressure mercury lamps for 5,000 ANSI lumens of brightness.

 The final grade for Lady Gaga's new pop video for her latest track Telephone was completed using Digital Vision's Nucoda Film Master.
The Chimney Pot post house in Sweden handled the visual effects, beauty work and sound de¬sign.
The 35mm material was graded in the US by Dave Hussey at Company 3. The final look was created using Nucoda Film Master during four days of grading by The Chimney Pot colorist Edward Negussie.

Under the alliance, the two companies will provide film restoration, image processing and enhancement, and HD conversion services to Japanese broadcasters and studios.
IMAGICA Corp. will also work closely with Reliance MediaWork's L.A.-based subsidiary Lowry Digital.

| International Colorist Academy (ICA) Grows Training Team |
|
International Colorist Academy (ICA) has expanded its training team with the addition of Cédric Lejeune, Lorne Miess, and Jeff Olm.
Cédric will be an ICA instructor for Color Management and Autodesk Lustre Colorist classes.
Lorne will be an ICA instructor for upcoming classes on Advanced Color Correction in Final Cut Studio, as well as Digital Color Theory.
Jeff will be instructing ICA classes on stereoscopic grading & workflows, and Autodesk Lustre.
ICA offers colorists a wide variety of technique-based courses, including basic color theory, digital intermediate and film workflows, telecine and lab grading, client interaction, and looks and styles. The classes and workshops cover a broad range of manufacturer color grading systems, and many are not system specific.
