Celco Cinesafe 4K Digital Archive Recorder Now Shipping
 

CELCO announced today that the CineSafe 4K Digital Archive Recorder, which was announced at IBC 2007, is now shipping.

The new CineSafe 4K has been specifically designed to output color separations on to black and white film stocks at the highest speed and resolution.


Autodesk signs definitive agreement to acquire Kynogon, maker of Kynapse-the leading game AI middleware
 

Kynapse has been used to develop more than 65 AAA game titles, including Alone in the Dark 5, Crackdown, Fable 2 and The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar. Kynapse gives characters spatial awareness, enabling them to realistically navigate digital environments.

Leading visual effects software developer The Foundry is delighted to announce the next major release of its powerful compositing application, Nuke.

Ascent Media Purchases World's First 16mm Cintel diTTo
 

Ascent Media based in London has installed the world's first 16mm/35mm diTTo scanner.

After beta-testing the dual-gate Super 2K and 4K data centric scanning system that was launched at NAB 2007, Ascent Media purchased the scanner to compliment its existing technology workflow in its Wardour Street facility.


The Farm Group Invests in Second Film Master
 

The Farm Group has purchased a second Film Master colour grading system.

The second machine is installed at Farm-subsidiary Uncle, where it has so far been used on projects as diverse as The Mighty Boosh (BBC3) and Wild at Heart (ITV1).
