October 31, 2007
Source: Grass Valley
Bones Dailies is designed for one thing and one thing only, to do dailies as fast, efficiently and as effortlessly as possible
Bones™ Dailies platform is a Linux-based system designed to double the throughput of your current dailies solution.
This turnkey, fully scalable system manages the entire production process, from ingest to the creation of a color-graded dailies master.
It supports all of Grass Valley's DataCine® and telecine systems and features a template-driven process for quick turnaround, rapid picture and sound synching, and an integrated color-correction toolset.
Flexible and scalable approach - single seat to 4 seats
Bones offers you a scalable system, starting at an entry-level single seat dailies solution, to a high throughput four-seat dailies system.

For The Colorist! Color-Grading Tools
The Bones Dailies system also has a full set of
color-grading tools, including a reference still store to
finish your master in a single device. This integrated,
real-time, color-correction toolset eliminates the need
for additional and expensive hardware. Plus, you have your choice of grading panels.
Flexible Workflow Approaches
Due to its unique design, Bones gives customers complete flexibility
in how the dailies workflow is put together. Below are three workflow examples:

Workflow Example 1: Un-graded files are stored on disk. Bones Dailies applies ASC CDL color correction in realtime
during creation of deliverables.

Workflow Example 2: Un-graded files are stored on disk. External color corrector controls Bones Dailies timeline like a virtual
telecine and applies full color correction in real-time during creation of deliverables.

Workflow Example 3: Film is graded on telecine in traditional manner. Already graded files are captured to disk in one film
pass, faster than real-time. Bones Dailies manages sound sync, logging and take selection. Play
timeline to create deliverables
