
Dimension 3 Festival, the first 3D festival, is launching
a call for entries!

The first international competition dedicated
to all types of stereoscopic 3D contents is now accepting
applications. The award ceremony will be on June 2, 2010,
during the international forum on S-3D and new images Dimension
3, at the Pullman Dock (La Plaine Saint-Denis, France).
This is an unprecedented chance to celebrate and reward the
talent of all those involved in creating the next generation
of images.

Dimension 3 Festival is launching a call
for entries, addressed to all creators and producers of 3D
contents. A unique international event, the Festival aims
at illustrating the variety of new contents, industries, technologies
and applications on the market of S-3D.
The arrival of 3D technologies and of stereoscopic filming
will encourage the development of contents for films, entertainment,
industrial applications, training, advertising In such a context,
we seized the opportunity to present the diversity of S-3D
productions, and to promote new talents. The Festival first
launched in 2007, and started out by offering a collection
of 3D programs; last year, visitors were able to enjoy 12
hours worth of stereoscopic contents! The newly-introduced
competition, covering a number of markets, will contribute
to develop a cross-industry community spirit and provide a
festive atmosphere, explains Nathalie Klimberg, manager
of Dimension 3 Festival.
Dimension 3 Festivals call for entries is directed to
all 3D contents created after January, 2007. Competing programs
must apply for one of the 6 following categories:
- Short programs: short films, advertising clips, music videos
- Feature-length programs
- Live 3D: live show, concert, sports
- Interactive 3D: real-time 3D, serious games, virtual reality,
augmented reality
- Video games Entertainment: Online games, CD-ROM, theme park
rides
- Independent production: self-produced programs, school programs,
thesis projects
The jury, consisting of prominent members of the arts, media
and audio-visual communities, will select one winner in each
category and will also give out 3 special prizes:
- Special prize for visual effects
- Special prize for images
- Special prize for artistic direction
On the evening of June 2, winners will be awarded a Golden
Dimmy for their productions; the award ceremony will
take place as a part of Dimension 3, the international forum
on S-3D and new images (from June 1 to 3, Seine-Saint-Denis,
France).
Competitors can send in their entries until May 5, 2010.
