da Vinci Systems, a leading provider of color enhancement and image restoration systems, will demonstrate its highly advanced new Resolve® R350 digital mastering suite and Impresario" control surface in Tokyo, Japan, on Wednesday, July 16 and Thursday, July 17, 2008. Appointments are available both days.
Peter Chamberlain, da Vinci's Asia-Pacific regional sales manager; Dean Lyon, da Vinci's director of marketing; Rich Montez, da Vinci's director of training; and Masaki Ito of Photron will be on hand to discuss the latest product applications, answer questions, and demonstrate the speed and power of the R350 system.
The Resolve suite offers flexible, real-time throughput of nonlinear images in film, television, and commercial applications. The Resolve R-series is based on da Vinci's advanced new processing engine, C.O.R.E. (CUDA© Optimized Resolve Engine). With the introduction of C.O.R.E., da Vinci is the first in the industry to maximize the power and efficiency of GPUs not merely for graphics display, but also for processing power, thus surmounting the complex, computation-intensive challenges inherent in color finishing. The Resolve R-series includes the R200 with two processors and one da Vinci Transformer" board for image processing; the R250 with two processors and two Transformer boards; the R300 with four processors and one Transformer; and the R350 with four processors and two Transformers.
Impresario is a new control environment that offers hard and soft key functionality, user-defined flexibility, an ergonomic design for ease of use, and highly customizable control technology. In a further departure from convention, da Vinci offers an API that enables Impresario to be deployed for use with third-party devices. A video demonstration of the panels will be available as well as a demonstration set of the Impresario control environment.
