Concrete Post Announces New Ownership and Management Structure

Concrete Post Production Ltd has announced a new ownership and management structure for Soho's post production facility "Concrete".

Concrete Post Ltd was the former limited company behind the trading name, managed by board directors Dave Thompson, Terry Bettles and Chris Gilbert. This board previously also included ex-Baraka director David Cox, who subsequently left the board citing "differences of opinion over direction" of the company. However, the lease on the current Dean Street premises required renewal and the directors were not prepared to offer the required security to the landlord in order for Concrete to continue there. As a result, Concrete's future was thrown into doubt.

A new company has been formed by ex director David Cox, and the necessary security has been provided to the landlord for a new 10-year lease to be agreed. "Concrete" will therefore continue as a trading style of Concrete Post Production Ltd.

David Cox states "I left the board after many disagreements including issues that arose due to Concrete's history of once being part of another group of companies prior to my involvement. Concrete has built up an extraordinarily creative talent base and this puts it in a great position going forward in difficult times. I therefore decided to provide the necessary foundation for the company to continue, but only on the conditions that there was a complete ownership change and a line was drawn under transactions with the directors' other companies."

The result is that Concrete Post Ltd was placed into liquidation on the 20th November 2008 and Concrete Post Production Ltd agreed a license to continue trading with the liquidators with immediate effect.

The new company looks forward to continuing trade relations with historical suppliers and would like to thank SGO, Pixelution, Video Europe, XTFX, Media Lease and others for their support during these changes.

Concrete's new board of directors will be formed over the next couple of weeks. Current MD David Cox reveals, "I am just an acting MD for the time being. I want to establish a board from those that hold key positions at Concrete. In other words, I want to empower the people that deal with Concrete's clients on a day-to-day basis, rather than have a level of directors that have no direct connection with everyday issues. This will make Concrete even more client focussed and quicker to react to client needs."

Concrete's current projects include Christmas commercials for Staples, an Audi commercial for China, a commercial for Land Rover, a computer-generated advertisement for Red Bull, as well as high-end graphics titles for various channels. Morgan Sendall, Creative Director, Designer and Producer, is now based at Concrete, who brings with him a wealth of experience such as his conceptual design and production work for titles such as ITV's Formula One; Cricket 2020 and Panorama. He was also responsible for designing many other prestigious titles including BBC's Horizon and 'Best of British'.
