Bright Systems, Inc., developer of disk
recording and data infrastructure technology, has announced
that The Gate, Lebanons principal post facility, has
purchased a BrightDrive media recording system.
The Gate will use the new system to provide the data infrastructure
for its extended range of post-production services, which
includes a new end-to-end DI workflow.
BrightDrives advanced media recording technology
will serve the heart of our new digital data infrastructure,
said Sten Walegren, Managing Director, The Gate. We
chose the Bright option having seen it in action at IBC last
year. As well as being impressed by its smooth and fast data
delivery speeds, we were confident of first-class support
services, particularly since Bright had recently announced
their new European support centre in Germany.
The Gate was established in 2001 as Lebanons first film
processing and telecine service provider. The company manages
Kodak Cinelabs Lebanon and has expanded business operations
to offer filmmakers as well as advertising and music industries
a complete range of digital post services including editing,
visual effects and 3D animation.
The new BrightDrive Pro2 system with 3 streams of realtime
2k and 36 Terabytes of storage, will enable multiple operators
to access and use media concurrently while working within
a tightly integrated, highly flexible and powerful digital
environment.
A Lasergraphics 2K scanner will be used for scanning selected
media from 35 or 16mm negative. All media will be accessed
and delivered using the BrightDrive infrastructure, which
will also be integrated with Smoke for conforming and dust-busting,
flame for visual effects, Lustre for final grading, and a
DVC Clip Recorder for output and delivery in any format as
required.
