zweiB
GmbH is expanding its system architecture by an additional DI workstation CLIPSTER
and a SpycerBox. The DVS systems offer maximum flexibility and speed when processing
the Munich-based company's workflows.
zweiB
has already been using a CLIPSTER since the beginning of 2011, and it has
become an integral part of the company's workflow. Now the Munich-based specialist
in cinema and event engineering and media production has decided to invest in
an additional CLIPSTER workstation plus a SpycerBox.

Both DVS systems
integrate easily into the existing infrastructure thanks to their ease of use,
performance and numerous interfaces. Not only are they doing a perfect job of
expanding the workflows at zweiB they are also ideal for the event service
provider's rental park at the same time.
As CLIPSTER
can perform high-speed DCI Mastering processes, Digital Cinema Packages (DCPs)
can be generated and processed even faster and more professionally. In doing so,
all DI steps which are typically spread across multiple products
can be created in one system. Thanks to the direct preview and test option, CLIPSTER®
lets users directly view and check DCPs created either on the system itself or
on other systems. The DI workstation also lets the user edit films online, convert
them into various output formats and perform color corrections. At the same time,
CLIPSTER® handles all resolutions whether SD, HD, 2K or 4K.
With
SpycerBox, zweiB has chosen a flexible and modular storage solution that improves
the speed and efficiency of any workflow. The SpycerBox can be integrated as a
NAS or a SAN configuration or as a combination of the two into existing
system architectures, providing users with a high-performance end-to-end solution
that forms the core of their infrastructure. The award-winning DVS Spycer®
software also allows cross-network and platform-independent data management and
accelerates workflows considerably allowing editors to browse image and
metadata across the entire network and move it to where it is needed at the particular
time.
zweiB GmbH has also sent out a CLIPSTER
workstation on a tour of Germany, and it has been winding its way around the country
since November 13, 2011. On behalf of Alegria KONZERT GmbH, zweiB is responsible
for providing the technical platform for the staging of "Pirates of the Caribbean:
The Curse of the Black Pearl Disney LIVE in Concert".
At the
concert, the Munich Philharmonic orchestra and the Babelsberg Film Orchestra play
the original film music of "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black
Pearl" live and in-sync with the film. To achieve the best possible cinema
quality, zweiB uses a CLIPSTER® workstation, among other items of equipment,
to play out the film material in 2K quality.
Tammo Buhren,
Managing Director of zweiB: "Both CLIPSTER and SpycerBox excel thanks
to their considerable flexibility and openness, integrating perfectly into new
and existing workflows. That is why we are successfully using DVS products not
only for our own productions, but also renting them out too."
Michael
Bauer, Sales Director Central Europe at DVS: "We are pleased to see the impressive
projects zweiB is realizing with our products. CLIPSTER and SpycerBox are
not only ensuring the company is best equipped for future projects they
are also continually adding strength to zweiB's rental park."
